Amaramoli received from donors, the skilled carve-men (Main architect from India) who did the difficult job of carving this gigantic Statue from pure rock. Nevertheless, this statue is so tall and adored by many worshippers, hundreds flock here daily.

The drive from Colombo is around 3 hours. First, traveling to Kurunegala and from there the easy turn into the Rideegama village. The road condition is Okay and a quite easy drive. The villagers can assist or you can sure use the Google Maps.
